this was a study in materiality with the incredible sam seary
the project explored the intersections between cloth and glass
Resulting in creating a narrative through raw materials that typically aren’t found together in a functional textile piece, whilst highlighting the characteristics of its new relationship.
A handwoven textile piece of multi-layered cloth encases hand cut and copper wrapped coloured glass pieces within delicate hand woven pockets.

I spent the last two months beginning each day with a mandarin.
naturally I started weaving belts with orange silk.
consider this my version of an acoustic single - four honest tracks, without the bells and whistles. each belt named after the fruits and veggies i’ve been eating (which all are high in vitamin c - its why i’ve been eating them)
pictures taken one spring afternoon in my home with two beautiful friends drinking cheap wine with sticky fingers after eating mandarins.

the collector
curator Lydia Yee describes collecting traditionally by being amassed with the objective of building and
transmitting knowledge. the collector provides a malleable vessel for transporting these desired items.
a personal reflection on my own desires for minimal consumption whilst succumbing to the temptation of collecting found objects.
as individuals, we create the value of an object.
- An act of behaviour that prioritises the life of oneself, typically brought on by states of discomfort which stimulate the individual to withdraw from harmful situations.
This collection of work responds to ideas of shifting focus back to us as individuals, allowing time and space to prioritise ourself, for ourselves. Investing in our own comforts by surrounding yourself with visual and tactile comforts, Providing for yourself a secure and safe place that encourages rest, recuperation and time to re-focus and re-build.
